In the marketing world, consistent marketing is key. You need to ensure that you are constantly active across your selected marketing channels in order to engage your audience. It’s also important to ensure that your marketing clearly communicates your overall message and builds your brand.
So what does consistent marketing mean for you? It means, just like with anything, you need to strive to integrate marketing into your everyday activities. It cannot be an on/off deal like the last diet you tried out. You need to be consistent in the quality, quantity and message your marketing portrays. All in all, this will add value to your marketing strategy.
However, remember that consistency doesn’t mean communicating the same thing on every channel every day. Instead, communicate different topics and use different layouts or formatting.
Tip #1 Establish a brand voice.
What do your business and brand actually stand for? Who are your ideal clients and how do you help them? You need to get clear on exactly who you are and what your mission is so that you can communicate that clearly across all of your marketing channels and create consistent marketing. Establishing a clear and consistent brand voice helps you to ensure that all of your marketing communications are working in harmony with each other and ultimately helps to build the trust of your audience.
Tip#2 Create your promotion calendar.
Start this calendar by filling in any national and state holidays or occasions (like your birthday or business anniversary) you may want to incorporate into your marketing. Next, cross out all the time you plan to be out of the office for vacation, surgery, travel, children’s extracurricular activities, etc. What is left is the time you have for launching and promotion.
Make a list of your products and services that you want to continue to offer. Fill in what you want to promote in the month/months you want to promote it. You may choose to promote one product or service multiple times during the year. Ideally, you should allow 14 days of promotion before you launch a program or services.
Tip#3 Draw up an editorial content calendar.
You should have a marketing strategy that aligns fully with your promotion calendar. In order to aid implementation and ensure that you have a consistent marketing plan, draw up an editorial content calendar. Put simply, this is a calendar that details the actions you are going to take and the content you are going to publish over a specific time period that supports what you are promoting in any given month. By planning it out in advance, you will always know exactly what you are doing and when you are doing it.
Tip#4 Pick a content delivery system each month and stick with it.
What do I mean by a content delivery system? I’m referring to the way your content is delivered, like email marketing, video marketing, blog marketing, guest blogging, Facebook live, social media marketing, webinar marketing, etc. This is the primary way you will be getting your content out to your prospects. You can use the same strategy for the entire year, one per quarter, or a different one each month. It’s entirely up to you and how you feel you best connect with your tribe.
Tip#5 Create content in advance and then automate it.
Constantly creating and publishing content is necessary in order to engage your viewers, but actually achieving this is often a challenge to businesses. A top tip to help in this area is to create content in advance and then schedule it in to be posted automatically. For example, you could create seven blog posts and then use a tool such as Publer to schedule them in to be posted to your social media accounts automatically over a two-week period. Doing this saves time and helps to ensure that your marketing is consistent. If you want an all-in-one calendar and social media promotion platform, check out Co-Schedule.
