I do a great deal of SEO research for myself and my clients, like determining how many backlinks a site has, what pagerank the site holds, for what keywords the site is optimized, who owns a site, how old a site is, etc. I have been using a variety of tools to assess this info until I found a free one that tells me just about everything I need to know.
SEOQuake is a popular and handy analytic seo-tool for Firefox, Chrome and Opera browsers. SEOquake helps to obtain an information about any site for a wide range of parameters such as page rank, Google index, Alexa and many others. Keyword Density tool serves to demonstrate a number of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page. And, SeoQuake has a parameter that highlights no-follow links.
The SEOquake toolbar is easy to install and takes a couple of seconds. They offer a comprehensive tutorial on what all the results mean, and help with installing the plugin. The SEO Bar drove me nuts, as every time I looked up something in Google, the plugin showed all the data for all of the sites. I turned that off and just use it “on demand,” which is perfect for my needs.
